About the Opportunity
An established and high-volume outpatient respiratory practice in GTA West, is seeking a respirologist to join the clinic in a principal clinical and investigator role.
Operating for over 15 years, the clinic has developed a strong reputation within GTA West and maintains a loyal patient base supported by longstanding referral relationships with family physicians across the region.
In addition to a well-organized and busy clinical practice, the clinic includes an integrated clinical research division conducting sponsor-funded Phase II–IV respiratory trials. This structure provides a unique opportunity for physicians interested in expanding their career into clinical research while maintaining a robust outpatient practice.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in and eventually lead clinical trials with the support of an experienced research team and established sponsor relationships.
The Practice
- Established 15+ years with a loyal patient base of 2,500+ active patients
- Strong referral relationships with family physicians across the surrounding community
- Conditions treated include COPD, asthma, chronic cough, dyspnea, bronchiectasis, and pulmonary fibrosis
- Routine consultations booked within 4–6 weeks; urgent cases within one week
- Fully paperless EMR with same-day reporting to referring physicians
- Dedicated, experienced clinical and research support team in place
- No on-call responsibilities
- Access to tertiary care facility for consultation on challenging cases
- No hospital duties required
The Research Division
- Active Phase II–IV clinical trial site with strong, recurring sponsor demand
- Clinical research team managing day-to-day research operations
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification is required and can be completed online — candidates without prior research experience are encouraged to apply
- A structured onboarding period with direct mentorship in pharmaceutical research operations will be provided to the right candidate
What We Are Looking For
Required:
- Medical degree and completion of Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) residency training in Internal Medicine and Respirology
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) with certification in Respirology
- Active or eligible CPSO licensure in good standing
- Ability to manage a high-volume outpatient practice
- Full-time commitment (Monday–Friday)
Strongly Preferred:
- Any exposure to clinical research during training or practice — participation as a sub-investigator or research assistant is an asset
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical sponsor relationships or CRO processes
- Interest in developing as a Principal Investigator for sponsored clinical trials
- Experience in an outpatient community respirology practice

Compensation
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
- Base Range: $350K to $400K, depending on experience
- Meaningful additional income generated through clinical trial participation
